You may download and alter IMAP data from within the client application if you consider the "complete access" option in the AOL IMAP settings. The AOL username and password must be supplied. You'll be able to log in when your email client asks you to do so. When you initially set up your account or change your settings with AOL's servers, this happens. To begin, go to https://webmail.aol.com. After that, click Settings, then IMAP from the gear icon.
